Rates - Service

> Hourly Rate - $145*

> Warranty Hourly Rate - $170

There is a minimum one-hour labor charge for every visit, which usually covers diagnostics (usually even if diagnostics takes longer than anticipated). Afterward, we round time per quarter hour.

We charge fairly, and we don’t stretch out labor for troubleshooting or repair. We only put competent, efficient time on the clock. Generally, our billed hours will be actual time-on-task or the Spader flat rate, whichever is less (which saves you money!)

*Larger projects are often costed at the full-day rate (6+ hrs) at $120/hr. 

*NOTICE: Work paid through warranty and insurance claims is charged a flat $170/hour to cover the additional administrative work.

Payment is due in full at the conclusion of each service visit. We accept cash, card, check, PayPal, and Venmo.

Rates - Mileage

Trip Fee - $3/mile, 1-way ($90 minimum)

  • Mileage is based from our headquarters in Somerset, PA.
  • We only charge for the trip to you, not the return trip.
  • If your problem requires multiple scheduled service calls, we will bill multiple trip fees. But we don’t bill multiple fees if the onus is on us. 
  • Please ensure we can safely reach the location of your RV in a 14-ft box truck! Let us know road conditions and access rules.
  • Contact us for reduced mileage fees if your location is more than 75 miles away.

Repairs & Retrofits

Hello! I’m Andy, Owner/Operator of Sterling RV Services. Pleasure to meet you!

I describe myself as an “advanced RV diagnostics technician,” which is not quite the same thing as an “RV handyman.” A handyman is someone who focuses on preventative maintenance and simple repairs. As a former RV design & manufacturing engineer, I prefer working on complex problems and projects that have you stumped. I also specialize in roofing repairs and rebuilds.

In my experience, my services often pay for themselves; troubleshooting is usually cheaper than throwing parts at the problem! I enjoy explaining how things work (and sometimes why they don’t), and customers often tell me my knowledge alone was worth the visit. I look forward to working with you!

How do I get started?

Easy! For the fastest service, please submit a Service Request (click the blue button below). Spend 5 minutes filling out the form, and we’ll get back to you ASAP. This form is required for service if you’re a new customer. If you don’t feel comfortable filling it out, we’ll help you once we arrive. Priority is given to customers who have submitted the Service Request form.

Call, text or email us, especially if you need immediate attention. If we don’t answer the phone, we’re probably on a service call, so leave a voicemail or send a text, and we will respond as soon as we can.
